Trail Wardens
Close to 400 Trail Wardens have been trained to patrol all trail types throughout Nova Scotia. They are trail ambassadors who monitor trail activity and share information about trails, trail etiquette, regulations and safety and promote respect for the environment and landowners.
Wardens are public relations officers. They are not enforcement officers, although they may work closely with local police and DNR enforcement officers. Wardens patrol trails and monitor trail conditions and watch for potential hazards. Many wardens have first aid training and will assist where possible until emergency response teams arrive.
