"Volunteering with Nova Scotia Trails as a Trail Warden has been rewarding in many ways.  I have the opportunity to meet many people in my community, get fresh air & exercise, and do my part in keeping the trails a safe and friendly place for everyone."

Anyone who wishes to volunteer as a Trail Warden must be:

• nominated by their club/group
• willing to take training
• agree to observe the Integrated Trail Patrol Code of Ethics
• prepared to commit time on a regular basis to patrol the trail
• committed to the principles of safe and responsible trail use

While not a requirement it is highly desirable for Trail Wardens to become and maintain certification as a first-aider.  Wilderness First Aid should be considered for trail environments that are remote and immediate evacuation may not be possible.

Trail warden training is free of charge to interested individuals nominated by their club or group.
